Previously, he ran a successful group practice in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He recently moved to Lake Wylie to give his wife Kim, and two children, Jack and Logan, the perfect mix of urban amenities and lakeside living.
As a health care professional, Dr. Touchstone also has the privilege of teaching hundreds of other dentists per year methods to improve the care they give to their patients through proper integration of CEREC CAD/CAM and other dental technologies. As an innovator in his profession, he holds several patents related to color control for dental restorations and he consults with major dental manufacturers on the development of their materials and instruments.
As an esthetic dentist, Alex has a passion for restoring your smile to harmonious function and appearance for a lifetime.
“To have the privilege of caring for your health and beauty is a purpose for which I am grateful. My team and I are looking forward to giving you a surprisingly positive dental experience that affirms your confidence in us.”
– Dr. Alex Touchstone
"I guess I have always known I wanted to be in the dental profession. When I began working as a dental hygienist in 1993, I found comfort in providing care to patients with a smile and tender heart. It was a few years later that I found esthetic dentistry and instantly a new passion was born. I love assisting the client visualizing a goal for a healthy and gorgeous smile that breathes new confidence in them. It is gratifying to see how this can positively affect clients’ lives. When I heard about Dr. Alex Touchstone moving to Charlotte and had the opportunity to meet him, I quickly realized that we have very parallel goals, philosophy, and vision. My excitement to work with Dr. Touchstone is only surpassed by my desire to meet and work with you, the client, and help you visualize and achieve your dream smile."
"When I was sixteen years old, I had a summer job in a dental office. From that experience, I have continued in the dental profession for over thirty years. Being a chair side dental assistant, I am able to experience with the patient all of their treatment procedures. I always want people to be comfortable and well taken care of when they are around me and that includes the dental chair.
"Dr. Touchstone and I met at a CEREC Training Course in Charleston, S.C. at the Medical University Dental School several years ago. At that time, I immediately admired his professionalism, teaching abilities, dental expertise, and warm personality. Not realizing that in the future I would have this great opportunity to be a part of his dental team."
"In 1992, I began my dental career in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada managing a small, two-dentist practice. After 5 years, the practice grew to 12 dentists, and I decided a career change was in order. I began managing a restaurant and after implementing an outstanding customer service program, I realized that the dental industry could share some lessons with the hospitality industry. My family and I found ourselves circling the globe with my husband’s job until we finally landed here in Charlotte. It was not until meeting Dr. Alex Touchstone that the thought of going back into dentistry crossed my mind. He wanted to do something different, try new ideas and concepts, and show patients that going to the dental office could be an enjoyable experience. I am so excited to be a part of this experience and can’t wait to change how you look at dentistry."
