Implant Supported Dentures

These are similar to regular dentures, except we use dental implants to increase the stability of your dentures. Once they’re attached, they won’t shift, even while you’re eating. Implant-supported dentures restore more of your chewing power than “loose” dentures can, but they aren’t permanently secured, like Hybridge dentures are.

How implants dentures work

Implant Denture

1. Implant Placement
To begin, we place dental implants at strategic locations in your jaws – chosen to maximize the support and security of your denture.

2. Attach Implant Abutments
Once the implants are permanently in place, we attach an abutment that will secure the denture to the implants.

3. Fit and place denture
Your dentures are designed to fit your mouth perfectly, and securely attached to the implant abutment to give you your new smile!

Why choose implant dentures?

  • Enjoy the foods you love
  • Improve your speech
  • Get a comfortable, secure fit
  • No slipping or falling out
  • Preserve bone structure and prevent bone loss

Frequently Asked Questions

During your first appointment, Dr. Touchstone will run the necessary tests to see if you’re a candidate for dental implants. If you qualify, he’ll develop a treatment plan that includes a timeline, pricing, and expected results. We work with one patient at a time, so you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions!
Care for your denture implants just like you would for your natural teeth - with regular brushing, flossing and professional cleaning. You can use an interdental brush or irrigator to clean around and under the implants to remove any food particles.
Depending on its age and condition, we may be able to adapt your existing denture to work with dental implants. Dr. Touchstone will evaluate your denture during your first appointment.
When you lose teeth, the bone that surrounded the missing teeth can begin to deteriorate. Over time, this can cause the remaining teeth to shift position and may change the shape of your jawline. Dental implants take the place of a missing tooth root, stimulating the bone and preventing bone loss.
